Delphina Pacheco Obituary

On Saturday, December 30, 2023 we lost someone that will be impossible to forget. Delphina was a true original. She had a natural ability for making the people around her feel special.  Delphina‘s children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved spending time with them, eating out, playing cards, playing dominoes, or just sitting around talking. Studio West 300 Salon was Delphina‘s second home. She was known to everyone as “Mama D”. She was always a welcome presence there, offering conversations, hugs, prayers and goodies. There was never an empty cookie plate or candy dish when she was around. Every Friday she would take orders for lunch and made sure everyone was always fed. Playing bingo was another one of the favorite past times of Delphina. She loved the community, enjoying the laughter and conversation. Delphina was an influencer long before it was fashionable. She raised chickens and rabbits for eggs and meat. Raising her children in the country, she used her skills to ensure they were always taken good care of. She baked bread, made homemade jams and jellies and Portuguese cheese. She would make elaborate Thanksgiving and Christmas feast, making everything from scratch. She gathered her children around her bed every night to pray the rosary together. The sound of her voice speaking God‘s word is a Favorite memory of ours. She was a long time parishioner of Saint Aloysius church in Tulare. Family Members Delphina is survived by her children, Christine Martens, Benjamin Pacheco, Roxanne Beayrd, Deborah Verissimo, and Ruby (David) Gruebele. Grandchildren Ashley (Tim) DeSilva, Valerie Pedro, Anthony (Morgan) Verissimo, Alexis (Ross) Duron, Alexander (Paige) Martens, and 5 great grandchildren. Her sister Deeolinda Macek, brothers, Alexander Domingos, and Joseph Domingues and many nieces and nephews. Honorary mentions; Carla Moran, Laura Faria and Doreen Puder. Proceeded in her death by her husband of almost 50 years Tony Pacheco, who passed away in January 2007. They raise their family on their dairy farm in Tulare.
