Rolland Pacheco Obituary

Feb. 21, 1941 – March 30, 2024

Rolland Pacheco was born in Visalia, California February 21, 1941 to Luiz J. and Alice (Costa) Pacheco. He passed from this life at age 83 on March 20, 2024.  According to his wishes, he passed away peacefully at his home of 43 years in Lindsay, California on Pacheco & Fagundes Dairy.

He attended Packwood Elementary School and Redwood High School, in Visalia.  In December 1959, he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Barbara Brady at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were together until Barbara's death on May 17, 1994 at the age of 53.

Rolland grew up working hard alongside his family on their dairy farm in Visalia.  As an adult he farmed cotton with his beloved brother Tony Pacheco.  For the past 60 years, Rolland was a dairyman and farmer, having started Pacheco and Fagundes Dairy in 1964 with his brother-in-law Manuel P. Fagundes.  They remained business partners until Manuel's death on April 17, 2020.

Rolland is survived by his children with Barbara, Mark & Cheryl Pacheco, Rolland II & Ellie Pacheco and Alice & Daryl Shelton, as well as his grandchildren John, Megan, Marissa, Madison and Angela Pacheco, Riley Shelton, Michella & Try Knotwell, Jessica & Kyle McLeod, Rolland III & Santina Pacheco, great-grandchildren Liliana and Carah Knotwell.

Rolland shared 24 years with Marlea Luiz, they were together until her death on March 9, 2018.  Rolland helped raise her sons J. J. and Donnie after the passing of their father John Luiz. Rolland is survived by Marlea's son Donald Luiz, and grandsons Dylan Luiz and John Joseph Luiz, Jr.  Together, Rolland and Marlea raised her grandson John "Joseph" Luiz, Jr., as their own.  Sadly, Joseph's father John Joseph "J. J." Luiz preceded Rolland and Marlea in death prior to Joseph's birth.

Rolland was preceded in death by his parents Luiz J. & Alice Pacheco and brothers Louis and Tony Pacheco.  He is survived by brother Gabriel & Martha Pacheco as well as his dear sister and business partner Alice Mae Fagundes and her sons Patrick, Douglas and Eric Fagundes.
