About Us

Miller's Tulare Funeral Home is an independently operated funeral home that has been serving the city of Tulare and the neighboring communities for over 70 years. Miller's Tulare Funeral home was established in 1948. In 1962 the funeral home was purchased by U.S. Navy veteran Donald J. Miller. Don and his wife Frances, they operated the funeral home from 1962 up until 1983 when Don sold the funeral home to the Loewen Group; a funeral home corporation based out of Canada. Miller's Tulare Funeral Home became part of a network of 600 funeral homes operated in North America and Europe. In 1999, Loewen Group declared bankruptcy and a new company called the Alderwoods Group emerged from Loewen in 2002. In 2006, Alderwoods Group was acquired by Service Corporation International (SCI); the largest funeral home corporation in the world and once again Miller's Tulare Funeral Home became one of many funeral homes under ownership of a major corporation.

But in 2007, Miller's Tulare Funeral Home returned to being a private and family-owned funeral home. Kim and Judy Wilson of Wilson Family Funeral Chapel seized the opportunity to purchase Miller's Tulare Funeral Home from SCI and operate it in the same family style and professionalism as Don Miller. Kim and Judy own and operate Wilson Family Funeral Chapel in Atwater and Merced, Whitehurst-McNamara Funeral Service in Hanford and their own crematory in Atwater. They are proud to add Miller's Tulare Funeral Home to their small independent group.  

Miller's Tulare Funeral Home is located at 151 North H Street in Tulare, CA. Our building is 7000 square feet and includes a chapel, lobby, visitation room, casket showroom and prep facility. We take pride in our services to families and to our community. Every year we donate to local charities and community service organizations.
